**POSITION PURPOSE**
Responsible for the coordination and supervision of staff on all job related functions and activities to ensure that all operations are conducted in a smooth, efficient and productive manner including standards for Restaurant & Bars. Coaches, trains and takes disciplinary action when necessary to ensure that all standards, policies and procedures are met.
**SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ 50% Maintain strong client relations and ensure that event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful meeting experience for the meeting planner and attendees.
+ Review sales contract as well as other important information, i.e., attendance guarantee, cut-off date, special concessions and attrition clauses and validate with client via turnover letter.
+ Monitor and enforce program deadline dates and work with client to release meeting space not needed to maximize hotel revenues.
**Solicit affiliate business.**
+ Monitor event activities on-site to ensure accurate and timely execution of event arrangements.
+ Produce and distribute event resume and communicate any changes updating information to hotel departments.
+ Distribute BEO's for group and affiliates.
+ Accurately forecast group food and beverage revenues for assigned groups and affiliate business within a 5% variance.
+ Check special room concessions and update group housing coordinator with any changes.
+ Participate in site visits and planning meetings for upcoming events and potential affiliate business.
+ Verify credit information submitted in the account management software system at point of turnover, to include estimated amount of billing, billing type and appropriate contact updating information as necessary until departure.
+ Participate in Pre/Post-Event meetings and review bill with client.
+ 50% Merchandise selection for assigned shops.
+ Control inventory levels of assigned shops through open-to-buy analysis for maximum profitability.
+ Manage automated reorder system set up in all shops to minimize inventory shortages.
+ Provide weekly and monthly business analysis for all shops.
+ Provide product knowledge for staff with sales training and trend presentations.
+ Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
+ Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
**SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
+ Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
+ Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Must possess basic computational ability.
+ Must possess basic computer skills.
+ Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
+ Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
+ Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
+ Knowledge of retail operations.
**QUALIFICATION STANDARDS**
**Education**
+ High school or equivalent education required.
**Experience**
+ Minimum two years food and beverage service background required.
+ Licenses or Certificates
+ Liquor Card
+ State of Hawaii TB Clearance Card
